RITES TODAY FOR MRS. JOHNSON

   Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) at 2 p.m. at the Beaverton 
Methodist Church for Mrs. Thirsta May Johnson, 78, who died Saturday at her 
home in Beaverton after an illness of one year. The Rev. Gordon Showers 
officiated and burial was in the Beaverton Cemetery. The former Thirsa May 
Ward was born in Carrysville, Ohio, on Jan. 1, 1885, and was married to Frank 
Johnson on June 27, 1912 at Wapakoneta, Ohio. A resident of Gladwin County 
since 1915, she was a member of the Beaverton Methodist Church. 
   Survivors include her husband, Frank; a son, Ralph, of Freeland; five 
grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
