SERVICES HELD FOR MARSHALL KENT

   Marshall L. Kent, 81, died suddenly at his home in Billings township on 
Saturday, May 12. Funeral services were held on Tuesday from the Dale 
Methodist church, with burial in the Billings cemetey. The Rev. Donald Sailor 
officiated, and graveside services were under the auspices of the Beaverton 
F.&A.M. Mr. Kent was born on September 24, 1869 in Washtenaw county and was 
the longest resident of Billings township, coming here 66 years ago with his 
parents, William and Eveline Kent. At one time he operated a store and he 
lived on one of the best farmes in the township. Mr. Kent was married to Miss 
Helen Colbeck, in Beaverton.
   Surviving are his wife, Helen' two sons, Claude Kent and Millard Kent both 
of Beaverton; two daughters, Evelyn Miller of Curtis and Nina Erskine of 
Hemlock; one brother, George Kent of Mt. Pleasant; 13 grandchildren and six 
great-grandchildren.
