Gladwin County Record
Douglas L. King, 63, of Beaverton died June 14, 2005 at home after a very 
valiant fight with cancer. He was born in Gladwin on Jan. 12, 1942 to Laurain 
and Lola (Crawford) King. He married the former Caroline Burlingame in 
Beaverton on Aug. 17, 1963. He lived in Gladwin County his whole life and 
retired in 2004 after 39 years at Brown Machine in Beaverton. He is survived 
by his wife, Caroline King of Beaverton; two daughters, Kim (Greg) Abbas and 
Tammy King, both of Beaverton; one granddaughter, Alyssa Abbas of Beaverton; 
his sister, Christine (David) Bennett of Beaverton; and his mother, Lola King 
of Beaverton. He was preceded in death by his father and his sister, Cathlyn. 
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 16 at Hall Funeral Home in Beaverton 
with the Rev. Karen Blatt officiating. Burial followed at Beaverton Cemetery. 
Memorial contributions may be made to Mid-Michigan Hospice.
