RITES HELD FOR HAZEL KITCHEN, 74

   Mrs. Hazel E. Kitchen, 74, of Beaverton, died Thursday, July 2, in the 
Gladwin Hospital after a short illness. Born in Reese, on Sept. 23, 1895, she 
came to Gladwin County in 1911. The former Hazel Murphy, she was married to 
Oliver Kitchen on June 2, 1920, in Tobacco Township. He preceded her in death 
on Nov. 23, 1949. Mrs. Kitchen was a member of the Beaverton United Methodist 
Church.
   Surviving are three sisters, Alta Murphy, of Beaverton, Mrs. Sylvia Grice, 
of Gladwin, and Mrs. Flossie Keyes, of Port Richie, Fla. Rites were held 
Monday at 2 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home. The Rev. Zina Bennett officiated 
and burial was in the Beaverton Cemetery.
