KITCHEN Mrs. Mary Louise Kitchen, 83, long time resident of Beaverton, passed away Friday, Oct. 3 at the Home of her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Force, in Flint. She died following a long illness, having been confined to her bed for the past 7 1/2 months. The daughter of William and Louisa Bowerman, she was born May 7, 1869 at Meaford, Ontario. While very young she came with her parents to the states and lived in Isabella county and vicinity, where she spent the greater part of her early life. On September 26, 1886 she was married to Frank Kitchen at Coleman. A few years later they moved to Gladwin county. In 1898 they moved to Beaverton where she has resided since. Mrs. Kitchen has been an active member of the Methodist Church for the past 45 years. She spent much time and effort in the Ladies Aid Society, and other activities of the church. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1919; a son, Alva, in 1933 and a son Oliver, in 1949. She is survived by three children, Leslie Kitchen and Mrs. Sadie Bergman, of Beaverton, and Mrs. Fleda Force, of Flint; three grandchildrn; eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Lydia Baker, of Battle Creek and Mrs. Delia Bays, of Saginaw. Funeral services were conducted Sunday from the Methodist Church in Beaverton with her pastor, the Rev. Larry Grubaugh officiating. Interment was made in Beaverton cemetery. Out of town relatives and friends who were here to attend the funeral were: Mrs. Thomas Bowerman and sons, Samuel and George, of Lima, Ohio; Mrs Lydia Baker and daughter, Edna, of Battle Creek; Ray Stankey, of Detroit; Glenn Baker, of Pontiac; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Tripp and daughter, of Lansing, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Hildebrand, of Saginaw, Mr. and Mrs. John Soule and Mrs. Nellie Baumgardner, of Alma, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Force, Mrs. John Scherman, Mr. and Mrs. Lawson Hyde, Donna and Delores Scott and Mr. and Mrs. Mack Kitchen, of Flint.
