SERVICES THURSDAY FOR MRS. LADD

   Mrs. Vanetta Conway Ladd, 86, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. James 
Buchan, in Beaverton, on Monday, June 14, after an illness of two months. 
Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the 
Beaverton Presbyterian church, following a short prayer service at the home at 
1:30. The Rev. John K. Osborn will officiate and burial will be in the 
Beaverton cemetery.
   Mrs. Ladd was born in Clark county, Ontario, Canada, on July 12, 1861. She 
was married to Peter Ladd on August 9, 1878, in Port Huron, and had been a 
resident of Beaverton for the past 47 years. Previous to that time she resided 
in Clare county. Mr. Ladd passed away in December, 1927.
   Surviving are one son, Fred, of Flint; two daughters, Gertrude Buchan of 
Beaverton and Marie Snyder of Lansing; four grandchildren and eight great 
grandchildren. One daughter, Enza Welker, preceded her mother in death.
