Lake, 94, of Hastings, died Monday, March 1, 1993, in Spring Brook Manor Nursing Home in Grand Rapids after a long illness. Born in Midland, Jan. 16, 1899, she moved from Midland to Detroit in 1923 and to Hastings 18 years ago. The former Florence Crumpacker, she was married to Charles Lake on Nov. 3, 1915, in Beaverton. He preceded her in death Oct. 30, 1965. Surviving are 2 sons, Lenard of Lincoln Park and Dlae of Ann Arbor; 2 daughters, Mrs. Ray (Violet) Warn of Arlington, Va. and Mrs. Richard (Veva) Nivison of Hastings; 2 sisters, Gladys Combs of Plymouth and Stella Cole of Hemlock; one brother, Comer Crumpacker of St. Charles; 14 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 sons, George and Leslie, a daughter, Lele Mansfield; and 3 sisters, Mary Andrist, Eva Sweatland and Mabel Sweatland. Rites will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton Chapel. Pastor Curtis Gordon will officiate and burial will be in the Tobacco Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
