ILLNESS FATAL TO MRS. LAKE

   Mrs. Gertrude Alice Lake, 75, died Wednesday at the home of her daughter, 
Mrs. Mildred Pendleton, in Beaverton, following an illness of two years. Mrs. 
Lake was born February 14, 1874, in Rochester, New York, and was married to 
William Lake in Eaton County on November 24, 1895. He preceded her in death on 
December 31, 1941. Mrs. Lake has been a resident of Gladwin County since 1908.
   Survivors include one son, Charles Lake, of Alpena; three daughters, Mrs. 
Grace Neumann, Gladwin, Mrs. Mildred Pendleton of Beaverton and Mrs. Bertha 
Spencer of Lakeville; 13 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and two great, 
great grandchildren. One daughter Ruth preceded her in death.
   Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 31, at 2 p.m. at the Church 
of the Brethren in Beaverton with the Rev. Carl Hilbert and Rev. Arthur 
Whisler officiating. Burial was in the Dale cemetery.
