He was born December 21, 1869 in Vermontville and departed this life December 31, 1941. He married Gertrude Schofield November 23, 1894 and to this union five children were born one preceding him in death in infancy. Mr. and Mrs. Lake moved from Vermontville in 1908 to a farm east of Beaverton, remaining there until 1937 when they moved to the city of Beaverton where Mr. Lake lived until his death. Those surviving are his wife and four children, Mrs. Grace Neumann of Gladwin, Charles Lake of Lincoln Park, Mrs. Mildred Pendleton and Mrs. Bertha Spencer of Beaverton and one brother, Benjamin Lake of Charlotte. Mr. Lake was highly thought of in the community and leaves many friends to mourn his loss. Funeral services were held Friday, January 2 at the Charles Neumann home in Gladwin and at the L.D.S. Church in Beaverton, Elder Willis Schrock assisting. Interment was in Dale cemetery.
