Lamb Sr. 71, of 1396 Birma Trail, Beaverton, died Friday, Sept. 23, in the Midland Hospital Center following a short illness. Born in Evansville, Wisc., on December 30, 1911, he came to Gladwin County 4 years ago from Chatanooga, Tenn. He retired in 1971 as a truck driver for Interstate Trucking Co. Mr. Lamb was a member of the Gladwin F.O.E. 3292. He was married to the former Hazel Brown-Wright on June 14, 1980, in Gladwin. Besides his wife, he is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. Paul (Barbara) Way of Madison, Wisc. and Angela Lamb of Chattanooga, Tenn.; 4 sons, Jerrold, Donald and Terrill of Madison, Wisc. and James Jr. in the Army in Hawaii; 3 sisters, Mrs. Mona Swanson of Traverse City, Beatrice Lamb of Portland, Ore. and Mrs. Ruth Patterson of Evansville, Wisc.; 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Rites were held Monday at 1 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin Chapel. The Rev. Dana Lane officiated and burial was in the Dale Cemetery. An Eagles Memorial Service was held at 7 p.m. Sunday.
