RESIDENT OF 75 YEARS PASSES

   A Gladwin County resident for 75 years, George Lane, 83, of Beaverton, died 
Monday, May 31. Services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
   George Allen Lane was born December 24, 1881, in Lansing, and came to 
Beaverton when he was eight years old. In 1901, he married the former Miss 
Maude Adams in Beaverton. For many years he was an oil and gasoline 
distributor in that area.
   Surviving are his wife, Maude; two sons, Willis of California, and Franklin 
of St. Clair Shores; one daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Beatrice) Shafer of Beaverton; 
and two grandchildren.
   The services were in Our Saviour Lutheran Church, Gladwin, with the Rev. 
Ernst Mueller officiating. Interment was in the Beaverton Cemetery.
