Leitner, 97, were held on Monday afternoon, May 24, at the Beaverton Methodist church. The Rev. Lawrence Grubaugh officiated and burial was made in the Beaverton cemetery. Mr. Leitner was born in Indiana on September 17, 1856, and passed away at the home of his son, Clarence Leitner, in Algonac. Surviving are two sons, Clarence of Algonac and John Clyes of Flint; four daughters, Mrs. Ella Nowlin of Detroit, Mrs. Florence White, Mrs. Ethel Filian, both of Bad Axe, and Mrs. Leila Hutton of Grand Rapids; five step- children, Ralph Wright of Brant, Carlton Wright of Beaverton, Philip Cronin of Gladwin, Mrs. Rose Powers of Flint and Mrs. Agnes Geer of Coleman; also several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. One son, Estle, a veteran of World War II, preceded him in death. Six grandsons acted as pallbearers.
