Leuenberger, 95, of Beaverton, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2001 at MidMichigan Medical Center-Gladwin following a short illness. Born July 14, 1905 in Beaverton, she was the daughter of Stephen and Alice (Wilder) Colbeck. She was a lifetime resident of Gladwin County. Mildred married Herman Leuenberger April 19, 1928 in Hope. He preceded her in death in 1980. She was a teacher at Beaverton Public Schools in Beaverton and a member of the Billings Missionary Church in Beaverton. Surviving are two sons, Herman and wife Joan, and Stephen and wife Peggy, all of Beaverton; two sisters, Edna Dicken of Beaverton and Hazel Bailley of Sun City, Ariz; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and one sister. Services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton with Pastor Steve Shangraw officiating. Burial was in Billings Township Cemetery in Beaverton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Billings Missionary Church.
