Lipke, 71, passed away suddenly at his home in Tobacco township on Saturday night, June 13. Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon from the Hall Funeral Home. The Rev. Mr. Dietrich, of Saginaw, officiated and burial was made in the Dale cemetery. Mr. Lipke was born in Germany on January 5, 1882, and came to the United States at the age of 19. He lived in Detroit for a time and came to Gladwin county 25 years ago. He owned and operated the Sugar Rapids grist mill at one time. On October 7, 1942, he married Mrs. Ida Scheele, in Gladwin. Surviving are three sons and two daughters, all of Detroit; also 15 grandchildren. Pallbearers were Charles Oglestone, L. Z. Hiser, Clifford Paxton, Harry Yager, Albert Guest, Royal McKimmy.
