Born in Wood County, Ohio, on Oct. 18, 1877, he was married to the former Erma Clark in Midland on June 15, 1920. He came to Midland County in 1905 from Ohio and farmed in Homer Township before coming to Gladwin County in 1945. He farmed in Tobacco Township for several years before retiring. Surviving are his wife, Erma; a son, David, of Beaverton; four grandchildren, James, Annamarie, Timothy and Dale; and a brother, Scott, of Ohio. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Miner Funeral Home with the Rev. Gordon Showers officiating. Burial is in the Dale Cemetery.
