Mrs. Julia Marien, 91, of 456 S. Ross St., Beaverton, died Sunday, March 24, 
1991, in the MidMichigan Regional Medical Center-Midland, after a long 
illness. Born in Nagyveleg, Hungary, Oct. 7, 1900, she came to Gladwin County 
in 1974 from Taylor. The former Julia (Szegfu) Spentz, she was married to 
Charles Marien, March 24, 1934, in Ecourse. 
   Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Katherine 
Anderson of Taylor; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Nowland of Beaverton; 6 
grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, 
John Spentz in 1983 and a grandson.
   Services were held today, Wednesday, at 1 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, 
Beaverton Chapel. The Rev. Donald Keen officiated and burial was in the 
Tobacco Township Cemetery.
