John W. Marti II, 28, of Beaverton, died Monday, Jan. 23, 1984, in Gladwin 
Area Hospital following an accidental shooting.

He was born Dec. 4, 1955, in Saginaw.  He had been a resident of Gladwin for 
the past two years.  He leaves his daughter, Sara Ann Marti of Midland; 
father, John W. Marti of Beaverton; mother, Julia J. Marti of Saginaw; 
sisters, Jayne Thon and Jan Herzog, both of Saginaw.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin Chapel. 
Burial will be at Arbutus Cemetery near Gladwin.  Friends may call at the 
funeral anytime until time of service.

Beaverton man’s death accidental

A 28-year-old Gladwin County man died Monday in an accidental shooting death, 
the county’s coroner said today.

John W. Marti II, of Beaverton, was found dead inside a Gladwin County home, 
said Dr. James Sullivan, Gladwin County medical examiner. Marti was pronounced 
dead at the scene. The location of the death was not released. Marti 
apparently had been shot with a .410 shotgun, the coroner said.
