Braggs, North Carolina on November 11, 2004. Lucas was born June 29, 1980 to William and Deborah (Williams) Mason. Lucas graduated from Beaverton High School in 1998, and then attended the University of Detroit Mercy. In January 2000 'Lucas' love for his country resulted in him enlisting in the military, a conviction shared by by his sister and his cousin Josh. During his four years of military service, Lucas served with the 327th Signal Battalion (Airborne) as a software analyst in the Battalion Information Management Office. In 2002 he was assigned to Bravo Company, 112th Signal Battalion (Special Operations) (Airborne) as a Technical Control Senior Operator. Having excelled as a Technical Control Operator Lucas was reassigned to the Company's Special Operation Forces Deployable Node. As the Assistant Team Sergeant, Lucas served with great distinction during Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Lucas received the Army Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster, the Army Achievement Medal with four oak leaf clusters, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism, Expeditionary Medal, the Gobal War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Meritorious Unit Commendation and the Parachutist Badge. Lucas is survived by his wife Jennifer, his daughters, Samantha Estes and McKenzie Mason, and his son Nicholas Estes, all of Fayetteville, North Carolina; his parents William and Deborah Mason, all of Beaverton; his grandparents Martin and Mary Mason, and Marlene Williams, all of Beaverton; and many aunts and uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert H. Williams. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, November 20 at 2 p.m. at Hall Funeral Home, 430 S. Ross Street in Beaverton. Visitation will take place Thursday, November 18 from 3 to 6 p.m. and Friday, November 19 from 4 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at the Tobacco (Dale) Cemetery in Beaverton.
