Vera M. Maxwell, 77, of Beaverton, died Tuesday, June 5, 2001 at home 
following a long illness. 
Born Sept. 14, 1923 in Detroit, she was the daughter of Daniel and Betty 
(Spink) Kelly. She lived in Gladwin County most of her life. 
Vera married John L. Maxwell, Dec. 25, 1941 in Gladwin. She was a homemaker 
and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gladwin. 
   Besides her husband she is survived by two daughters, Barbara Jean West of 
Bellaire and Paulette Maxwell of Denver, Colo.; one son, Phillip and wife Amy 
of Beaverton; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one aunt, Cora and 
husband Walter Short of Gladwin; a dear friend, June Kern of Cornell; and a 
close family member, Thomas Spink of Houghton Lake. 
She was preceded in death by her parents. 
   Services were held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton 
with Rev. Father Patrick Jankowiak officiating. Burial was in Beaverton 
Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to MidMichigan Hospice. Special
