(Jack) McKimmy, 67, of 5402 Oakridge Dr., Beaverton, died Tuesday, April 17, 1990, in the University of Michigan Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, Ann Arbor. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and in charge of the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton Chapel. Gladwin County Record 04-18/1990 Column - 3 Page - 2 John E. (Jack) McKimmy, 67, of 5402 S. Oakridge, Beaverton, died suddenly Tuesday, April 17, 1990. In the University of Michigan Hospital, Ann Arbor. Born in Detroit, July 20, 1922, he moved to Gladwin County in 1987 from Wayne. Mr. McKimmy graduated from Beaverton High School in 1941 and was in the Research and Engineering Dept. at Ford Motor Co. in Dearborn for 38 years until retiring in 1980. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, was a 32nd degree Mason in the Beaverton Masonic Lodge 453 and a member of the Gladwin County American Legion Post 171. Mr. McKimmy and the former Gerry Ward were married, Oct. 26, 1945 in Waco, Texas. Besides his wife, he is survived by 2 sons, Larry of Lake Orion and John of Canton; one daughter Mrs. Robert (Jackie) Erickson of Beaverton; one brother, Thomas Spray of Garden City; 2 sisters, Mrs. Shirley Sammons of Canton and Mrs. Betty Osborne of Wayne; 6 grandchildren and one great grandson. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert McKimmy and 2 sisters, Harriet Osborne and Vera Booker. Rites were held Saturday at 1 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton Chapel. The Rev. Mike Clark officiated and burial was in Tobacco Township Cemetery. A Masonic Memorial Service was held Friday at 7 p.m. and graveside military services were conducted by the American Legion Post 171.
