J. Ray McKimmy, 94, of 1900 W. Knox Rd., Beaverton, died Monday, Sept. 7, 
1992, at his home after a short illness. Born in Blissfield, Aug. 28, 1898, he 
had spent his lifetime in Gladwin County and farmed. He was a member of the 
Beaverton Church of the Brethren. Mr. McKimmy and the former Mary Mote were 
married June 6, 1920, in Beaverton. She preceded him in death on Feb. 24, 
1991. Surviving are several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a 
son, Raymond, many years ago, 2 sisters, Hazel Gruber and Ruth Yeager and 2 
brothers, D.J. and Clayton.
     Services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. from the Church of the Brethren. 
The Rev. Randall Roose will officiate and burial will be in the Tobacco 
Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church, the Hospice of Gladwin 
County or the donor's choice.
