Her father was Ora McKimmy, who died in June of 1931. The funeral services occurred at the Church of the Brethren, conducted by Rev. Perry Hoover, Monday. Gladwin County Record dated 02-16/1933 Column - 3 Page - 1 OREL ROSETTA MCKIMMY Orel Rosetta McKimmy, daughter of Ora L. and Ethel May McKimmy, was born Feb. 8, 1916, about two and one-half miles northeast of Beaverton, Michigan, and departed this life at her home in Beaverton Feb 11, 1933, at the age of 17 years and 3 days. Her father preceded her to the spirit world on June 24, 1931. Since then she with her mother and brother Loren have made their home in Beaverton. Although Orel never seemed so very strong physically, yet she never had been seriously ill until Tuesday noon when she came home from school, just not seeming to feel very well. Not until Thursday did she seem sick enough to remain in bed. Even then she was very patient and never complained of being very sick. Although her mother waited on her constantly through the night on Friday night, yet neither of them realized the danger of her condition until at about 5:15 Saturday morning when the Heavenly Father suddenly called her home. Orel was of a sweet and lovable disposition, being well liked by her teachers and her many friends. Her cheerful presence and smiling face will be missed at school, in the community and in the home. To know her was to love her. She leaves to mourn her passing her mother, Mrs. Ethel May McKimmy; one brother, Loren Louis; four grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. McKimmy and Mr. and Mrs. Charles T. Rise; uncles; aunts; many cousins and other relatives and a host of friends.
