They moved with their family to Buckeye township, Gladwin county, April 12, 1897, where he lived to the time of his death Sept. 6, 1919, his death being caused by high blood pressure, resulting from an attachk of influenza. Funeral services were held at the home, Tuesday, Sept. 9, at 10 a.m. conducted by Rev. William Neff, with interment in Dale cemetery. His wife and family of seven are left to mourn his loss, including five sons, George A., Charles Herfert and Frederick, who resides at home, Lewis and Burton of Gladwin county, and two daughters, Mrs. Walter Thomson of Hay township, and Mrs. James Shannahan of Windsor, Ont. Mr. McMahon moved on to a piece of unimproved land when he came to this county, upoon which he made a fine farm, with all conveniences, and but recently had built a fine cement house. He was one of the substantial farmers of Buckeye township, and in his death the community with his family as well sustains a great loss.
