Mrs. Jane McMahon, widow of the late George McMahon, died at her home in 
Arbutus Thursday, Oct. 23, at 11 a.m. She was the daughter of the late John 
and Agnes Mack and was born Feb. 24, 1850, in the township of Hope, Durham 
county, Ontario, Canada. The deceased was a Presbyterian by faith. 
   She is survived by five sons, George, Herb, Lewis, Fred and Burt, and one 
daughter, Mrs. Ira Shanahan. Two daughters preceded her in death, Cora May and 
Eunice, wife of Walter Thomson. She is also survived by 27 grandchildren, six 
great grandchildren, two brothers, Joseph and James Mack of Detroit, three 
sisters, Mrs. Annie Pethick, Mrs. Dorothy Bourne of Toronto, Mrs. Rachel Fee 
of Detroit. 
   Services were conducted by Rev. Leroy M. Whitney of Gladwin at her home in 
Arbutus. Interment at Dale cemetery, the remains being placed in the grave by 
her late husband who preceded her in 1919.
   Out of town relatives present were Mrs. Dorothy Bourne, Mr. and Mrs. George 
Pethick of Toronto, Ont., James B. Mack and daughter, Mrs. Fred A. Hayden, Mr. 
and Mrs. Arthur Thorpe, Mrs. Essie Clark and daughter Nancy, Donald Dunlap, 
Mr. and Mrs. Chester McMahon and son, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Rousseau, Mr. and 
Mrs. John Hodge, Leslie McMahon, Mrs. Henry St. Marys, Mrs. Charles Colloton, 
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Shanahan, Mr. and Mrs. James Shanahan, all from Detroit, 
Mr. and Mrs. Martin Peter and sons of Flint, Mr. and Mrs. Vital LaPlante and 
son of Walkerville, Ont., and Mr. and Mrs. George Thomson and Walter Thomson 
of St. Ignace.
