Michalak, 84, of Billings Township, died Sunday Aug. 11, in the Midland Hospital following an illness of two years. Born on Sept. 8, 1940, in Saginaw, he moved to Gladwin County in 1941. He was a boilermaker with Local 169. Mr. Michalak and the former Julia Maxwell were married on July 4, 1935, in Saginaw. Besides his wife, he is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Shirley Miller of Arizona, Mrs. Louise Shell of Walled Lake, Mrs. Barbara Swift of Gordonville, Mrs. Anna Reid of Oxford and Mrs. Jolita Kettel of Holly; one brother, Walter of Hope; six sisters, Mrs. Mary Toatelski, Mrs. Sadie Eugene, Mrs. Vanetta Nizinski and Mrs. Alice Roka, all of Saginaw, Mrs. Frances Fields and Mrs. Louise Haraman of Flint; and 18 grandchildren. Services were held today, Wednesday, at 2 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home in Gladwin. The Rev. Neil Keyes officiated and burial was in the Billings Cemetery.
