Anna S. Mitchell, 88, of Beaverton, died Thursday, Dec. 29, in Durham County 
General Hospital, Durham, N.C., after a long illness. Born in Elkton on August 
19, 1895, she had spent most of her life in Gladwin County. The former Anna 
Schwelen, she was married to Harry Mitchell Sr. on June 30, 1911, in Saginaw. 
He preceded her in death October 8, 1971.
   Survivors include 2 sons, Harry Jr. and Wallace of Beaverton; 2 daughters, 
Mrs. Ron (Marion) Ross of Butner, N.C. and Mrs. Dale (Muriel) Anderson of 
Durham, N.C.; 21 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; and 15 great great 
grandchildren. Services were held Monday at 1 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, 
Beaverton Chapel. Burial was in the Dale Cemetery.
