Born in Metamora, Ohio, October 13, 1889, he had been a resident of Gladwin County since 1902. Mr. Mitchell and the former Miss Anna Schwalm were married June 30, 1911, in Saginaw. He was employed by Consumers Power Company at the Beaverton dam as operator from 1919 to 1954 when he retired. Surviving are his wife, Anna; two daughters, Mrs. Marion (Ronald) Ross of Beaverton, and Mrs. Murial (Dale) Anderson of Durham, N. C.; two sons, Harry Jr. and Wallace, both of Beaverton; a sister, Mrs. Edith Carpenter of California; 22 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren. Two sons preceded him in death. The Rev. Jack Gray officiated at the services at the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton, and burial was in Dale Cemetery.
