Laura M. Mitchell, 89, of 205 W. Brown St., Beaverton, died Saturday, April 
24, 1993, in the Mid-Michigan Regional Medical Center, Midland, after a long 
illness. Born in Mills Townshiip, Oct. 11, 1903, she came to Gladwin County in 
1946 from Midland County. She owned Mitchell's Grocery in Beaverton and 
retired in 1963. Mrs. Mitchell was a member of the Beaverton United Methodist 
Church. The former Laura Gray she was married to Herman Mitchell May 27, 1922, 
in Gladwin. He preceded her in death May 4, 1964.
   Surviving are 4 daughters, Mrs. William (Margaret) Broka and Mrs. Glenn 
(Ruth Ann) Beebe of Beaverton, Mrs. Jerry (Joyce) Hughes of Goodrich and Mrs. 
Michael (Eleanor) Breault of Battle Creek; one son, Richard of Kankakee, Ill.; 
one brother, Joe of Mills Township; one sister, Lida Siebert of Midland; 15 
grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 
brothers, Clifford and Lloyd, 3 sisters, Ida Tolly, Agnes Wirtz and Ella Mae 
Muir, and one great grandson.
   Services were held Tuesday at 1 p.m. from the Beaverton United Methodist 
Church. The Rev. Dean Wyllys officiated and burial was in the Tobacco Township 
Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Visiting Nurses Assoc. or the Beaverton 
United Methodist Church.
