Moggs, 65, of 2126 S. Wieman Rd., Beaverton, died Sunday, Oct. 6, in the Bay Medical Center, Bay City, following a long illness. Born in Gaines Feb. 19, 1920, she had spent most of her life in Gladwin County. She was a member of the Highwood Church of Daniel's Band and a correspondent for The Gladwin County Record for several years. The former Edith Atherton, she was married to Vernon Estes in 1938, in Alger. He died March 4, 1965. She then married Albert M. Moggs Oct. 16, 1965, in Gladwin. Besides her husband, she is survived by 5 sons, Charles Estes of Charlevoix, Vernon Estes of Beaverton, Robert Estes fo Escanaba and Stephen Estes of Linwood: one sister, Mrs. Thelma Clay of Missouri; 5 brothers, Bert fo California, Fred and James of Bay City, Steve of Tennessee, and Bill of Akron-Fairgrove; 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Services were held today, Wednesday, at 11 a.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin Chapel. The Rev. Jim Hoggard officiated and burial was in the Billings Township Cemetery.
