Gladwin County Record
Gloria J. Moore, 69, of Beaverton, died Saturday, May 12, 2001 at MidMichigan 
Medical Center-Midland following a short illness. Born Oct. 12, 1931 in 
Detroit, she was the daughter of William and Ella (Goodwin) Kareus. She lived 
in Gladwin County since 1974 and previously lived in Midland.  Gloria married 
Richardson Moore, Sept. 9, 1950 in Gladwin. She was a homemaker.  She was a 
member of St. Annes Catholic Church in Edenville; past president of American 
Legion Auxiliary #165 in Midland (twice); Gladwin Eagles Auxiliary #3292 past 
trustee; Midland Elk #1610; and Midland Bowling Allstar for 10 years. She also 
loved her garden and playing cards. 
   Besides her husband she is survived by two sons, Rick and wife Dianne of 
Royal Oak, and Randy and wife Mary of Midland; grandchildren, Ryan and Amy 
Moore of Royal Oak, and Joe and Dan Moore of Midland; four brothers, Warren 
Kareus of Beaverton, Leonard Kareus of Gladwin, William Kareus of Prudenville, 
and Robert Kareus of Midland; two sisters, Doris Kinne of Hemlock and Grace 
Oliverio of California; and several nieces and nephews. 
   She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Kenneth Kareus. 
Services will be held today (Wednesday) at 11 a.m. at St. Annes Catholic 
Church in Edenville with Rev. Father Todd Arnberg officiating. Burial will be 
in Tobacco Township (Dale) Cemetery in Beaverton. There was a service by the 
Gladwin Eagles Auxiliary #3292 at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Hall Funeral Home was in 
charge of the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made, to be used 
according to the wishes of the family.
