Gladwin County Record dated 10-22/1969 Column - 2 Page - 2
Mrs. Elva C. Norton, 77, of Plymouth, died Sunday, Oct. 19, in the University 
of Michigan Hospital, Ann Arbor, after a long illness. The former Elva 
McKimmy, she was born in Bowling Green, Ohio on Feb. 12, 1892. She was married 
to Dr. Richard Norton in 1955 in Cumberland, Md. He preceded her in death on 
August 11, 1967. Survivors include one son, James McCourt, of Texas; one 
daughter, Mrs. Norine Berryman, of Plymouth; two brothers, Ottamar McKimmy, of 
Gladwin and Jay McKimmy, of Onaway; one sister, Mrs. Bertha Yager, of Gladwin; 
four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Rites were held today, 
Wednesday, at 2 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home. The Rev. Cedric Whitcomb 
officiated and burial was in the Dale Cemetery.
