James E. Noykos, Sr., 59, of Beaverton, died Sunday, Jan. 5, 1997 at Michigan 
Capital Medical Center, Lansing, after a long illness. Born May 6, 1937 in 
Saginaw, he previously resided in Sanford and Midland, before moving to 
Gladwin County in 1980. He had been employed by Asbestos Workers Local 47 of 
Saginaw.
   Surviving are one son, James E. Noykos Jr. of Sarasota, Fla.; two 
daughters, Catherine and husband John Chidlow of Sarasota, Fla. and Colleen 
Ellison of Bucyrus, Ohio; one half-brother, Raymond Noykos of North Baltimore, 
Ohio; two half-sisters, Marge and Beatrice Noykos of North Baltimore, Ohio. He 
was preceded in death by one brother, Frank.
   Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday at Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton 
Chapel. Friends may call at the funeral home 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and noon to 
9 p.m., Thursday. Burial will be in the Homer Township Cemetery, Midland. 
Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the 
American Diabetes Association.
