OAKLEY Funeral services for Mrs. Myrtle Oakley, 73, were held Wednesday (today) at the Beaverton Methodist Church with the Rev. George Huggard of Midland and Rev. Larry Grubaugh officiating. Interment was made in the Beaverton cemetery. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Miller she was born Mar. 14, 1882, at New Haven, Gratiot County. On March 7, 1896 she was married to Stanton Oakley at Ithaca. The Oakleys have been residents of Gladwin County for the past 55 years, and lived in Beaverton the past 55 years, and lived in Beaverton for the last ten years. Mrs. Oakley was a member of the Beaverton Methodist Church. Her survivors include her husband, Stanton; three sons, Leo and Paul of Detroit and Fred of California; one foster son, Elmer Stout of Detroit; and one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Stickney of Beaverton; and nine grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Amanda Wiekel of Detroit and Mrs. Daisy Seawright of Coleman; three brothers, Edward and George Miller of Flint and Duryus Miller of Owosso. Pallbearers for Mrs. Oakley were Ralph Hayward, Albert Arnold, Darrel Wood, Roy Shock, Eli Farrison and Allan Hurry.
