Mrs. Vergie J. Oard, 78, of 2248 South M-30, Gladwin, died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 
in the Midland Hospital Center following a long illness. Born in Paulding 
County, Ohio, on October 15, 1896, she had spent most of her life in Gladwin 
County. The former Vergie Bushong, she was married to Boyd Oard on January 22, 
1916, in Gladwin. He preceded her in death on Sept. 16, 1964.
   Surviving are three sons, Orville and Gerald of Gladwin and Max of 
Beaverton; two daughters, Mrs. Roy (Mary Jane) Brushaber and Mrs. W. D. (Betty 
Jean) Myers, both of Beaverton; two sisters, mrs. Anna Smith of Lansing and 
Mrs. Margaret Casselman of Flintl; 16 grandchildren and 17 great 
grandchildren. Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Hall Funeral 
Home in Gladwin. The Rev. Vernon Wyllys will officiate and burial will be in 
the Dale Cemetery.
