Palka, 60, of 2298 Dale Rd., Beaverton, died Sunday, Jan. 17, in the Midland Hospital Center after a long illness. Born in Melvindale, Jan. 24, 1927, he came to Gladwin County 14 years ago from Westland. Mr. Palka worked in construction and was a member of the Reinforced Iron Workers Local 426 in Detroit. He retired in 1985 after 32 years. He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Edenville and bowled. Mr. Palka was married to the former Theresa Seres Sept. 6, 1952, in Melvindale. Besides his wife, he is survived by 3 sons, Thomas of Midland, Michael of Beaverton and David of Gladwin; 2 daughters, Mrs. Clifford (Judith) Linsenman of Rose City and Mrs. Rick (Deborah) McCulloch of Alden; 3 brothers, Andrew and Walter of Romulus and Joseph of Redford Township; 2 sisters, Mrs. Nellie Dielat of Southgate and Mrs. Betty DeCuyper of Allen Park; and 10 grandchildren. A sister and 3 brothers preceded him in death. Services were held today, Wednesday, at 11 a.m. from St. Anne Catholic Church. The Rev. Father Fred Kawka officiated and burial was in the Tobacco Township Cemetery. A Rosary was said Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton Chapel.
