Parker, 86, of Beaverton, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 1997 at Tender Care Nursing Home in Midland after a long illness. Born April 7, 1911 in Grout Township, Gladwin County, he was a lifetime resident of Gladwin County. Delmar married the former Irene Fry, March 30, 1933 in Bay City. He had been employed by Robinson Industries in Coleman as a wheel operator, retiring in 1976 after 29 years. He also farmed and was a member of the Farm Bureau. Delmar was a member of the Beaverton Church of the Brethren. He helped organize the Beaverton Little League and was active in that organization. Besides his wife he is survived by one daughter, Lucille and husband Roger Mudge of Standish; three sons, Donald and wife Sandy of Beaverton, Harold and wife Ruth of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, and Douglas and wife Connie of Midland; one sister, Maude Scoby of Gladwin; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services were held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Beaverton Church of the Brethren with Rev. Kenn Golay officiating. Burial will be in Tobacco Township (Dale) Cemetery in Beaverton.
