D. M. PAXTON Mrs. Mable Paxton, 66, wife of D. M. Paxton passed away at her home in Gladwin on Sunday, April 25. She had been in ill health for the past several years. Mable Powell was born in Madison county, Ohio, on August 28, 1881, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Powell. Mr. and Mrs. Paxton were married in Paulding county, Ohio and would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this summer. They came to Gladwin county 45 years ago and resided near Beaverton for 25 years. For the past 20 years they have lived in Gladwin city. Survivors, besides her husband, are six sons, Gaylord of Coleman, Cecil of Flint, Carl of New York, Doyle of Gladwin, and twin sons, C. D. of Flint and C. W. of Gladwin; six daughters, Beulah Holland of Ovid, Mildred Knight of Flint, Zellah Knight, of Houghton Lake, Ruth Fortner, Doris Kigar and Viola Lennon, all of Gladwin; two sisters, Sarah Allen of Orlando, Florida and Cecelia Morningstar of Ehrdardt, South Carolina; one brother Ervin Powell of Grover Hill, Ohio; 28 grandchildren and eight grandchildren. One daughter, Beatrice and a son Thomas preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Gladwin Methodist church, with the Rev. John Scott officiating. Burial will be in the Beaverton cemetery. Special singing will be offered by Leon Methner of Beaverton. Mrs. Paxton's sons will act as pallbearers.
