Pendleton, 79, of Gladwin, died Friday, Dec. 9, 1994 in the Gladwin Nursing Home following a long illness. Born July 5, 1915 in Beaverton, Mr. Pendleton was a lifetime resident of Gladwin County. He was employed by Power House at Dow Corning in Midland and retired in 1977 after 21 years. Mr. Pendleton was an elder at the RLDS Church in Gladwin since 1952. He served as county director of blood services for the American Red Cross and was the volunteer coordinator of the Gladwin County Blood Program for many years. In 1990, he received the Gladwin County Citizen of the Year award from the chamber of commerce. He married the former Mildred Lake Nov. 9, 1935 in Beaverton and she died June 12, 1984. He then married May Clark Jan. 5, 1985 in Gladwin. Besides his wife, he is survived by 3 step-sons, Fred Clark of Cadillac, Jack Clark of Burton, and Larry Clark of Harrison; and a brother, Donn Pendleton of Beaverton. Rites were held Monday at 11 a.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin chapel with Elder Fred Clark officiating. Burial was in the Dale Cemetery, Tobacco Township.
