AGED - RESIDENT AND OFFICIAL OF SHERIDAN TOWNSHIP PASSES AWAY.

   The death of Robert Pettit occurred Sept. 23, 1919, at the age of 77 years 
and nine months. He was born in Middlesex county, Ontario, Canada, Dec. 23, 
1841, and at the age of 14 he moved with his parents to Indiana. During the 
Civil war he served in the Union army. He had been a resident of this locality 
near Rhodes 27 years, and for several years up to his death resided in 
Sheridan township, where he was a justice of the peace. He leaves to mourn his 
loss his wife and three sons, James, Erny and Clarence, also three sisters and 
one brother.
