Popp, 68, of Beaverton, died suddenly Friday, Oct. 15, 1999 at MidMichigan Medical Center-Midland. Born March 22, 1931 in Heidelberg, Germany, he lived in Gladwin County since 1990 and previously lived in Waterford. Walter married Patricia (Wolfgram) July 18, 1998 in Beaverton. His first wife, Phyllis, preceded him in death in 1996. He was a factory worker for General Motors in Pontiac, retiring in 1987 after 18 years. He was a member of the Dale United Methodist Church in Beaverton. Besides his wife he is survived by one sister, Doris and husband Jobst Rottmann of Germany; one niece, Betty Lou and husband Roger McNeil of Waterford; one great nephew, Chad Kuhl; three stepsons, Dale Carll of New York, David and wife Jeannine Carll of Vasser, and Chuck and wife Abbi McNett of Midland; two stepdaughters, Robin and husband Larry Cline of Vasser, and Paula McNett of Auburn; one granddaughter; seven grandsons; mother and father- in-law, Anna and Donald Wolfgram Sr. of Deland, Fla., and one nephew, JoJo Rottman. He was preceded in death by his stepparents, Emma and Benarda Eheriser; and one stepsister, Betty Green. Services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19 at Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton Chapel with Rev. David Stewart officiating.
