HOMER A. POWELL

   Homer A. Powell, 77, of Beaverton, died Saturday, Nov. 22, in the Gladwin 
Area Hospital following a long illness. Born in Lenawee County on November 22, 
1898, he had resided in Gladwin County for the past 35 years.
   Mr. Powell retired in 1963 after 20 years as custodian in the Beaverton 
Rural Schools. He and the former Hilda Cornell were married on November 5, 
1955, in Beaverton. She preceded him in death on May 4, 1975.
   Survivors include one son, Homer Jr. of Beaverton; one daughter Mrs. 
Barbara Hannah, of Beaverton; one sister, Mrs. Mildred Dixon of Cadillac; four 
brothers, Leonard of Beaverton, Ike of Rhodes, Seth of California and Harold 
of New Mexico; five grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
   Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home in 
Beaverton. The Rev. Dale Hill and the Rev. Gerald Palmer will officiate and 
burial will be in the Beaverton Cemetery.
