RACKEL

   Madeline, widow of Peter Rackel, died at her home in Beaverton township, 
Sunday, March 14, of senile decay. She was of the first settlers in Beaverton 
township, where she had resided 27 years. She was born in Rhine Provence, 
Prussia, in 1842, and came to this country with her husband 29 years ago. Five 
children mourn her loss: John, Peter, Charles, Mrs. Kate Welker and Mrs. 
Lizzie Welker. The funeral services were held at the family residence March 
17, Rev. Tiffany officiating. Interment in Beaverton cemetery.
