HENRY RAU, 92 PASSES MONDAY

   Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) at 2 p.m. at the Beaverton 
Church of the Brethren for Henry A. Rau, 92, who died Monday at his home in 
Beaverton after an illness of several months. The Rev. Arthur Whisler 
officiated and burial was in the Dale Cemetery.
   A retired farmer, he was born on Dec. 25, 1869, in Hancock, Ohio, and came 
to Gladwin County in March, 1912. He was married to the former Alice Lindower 
on Feb. 11, 1892. She preceded him in death on Dec. 10, 1957. Mr. Rau was a 
member of the Church of the Brethren where he served as Senior Deacon.
   Surviving are two sons, Earl, of Beaverton, and George, of Gladwin; six 
daughters, Mrs. Grace Ward, Mrs. Clarence Carpenter, and Miss Elma Rau, of 
Beaverton, Mrs. Carlton Lanphierd and Mrs. Ralph Ward, of Midland, and Mrs. 
Vida Arnold, of Albion; 15 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren.
