Rau, 63, of Gladwin, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, in the Midland Hospital after an illness of six weeks. Born in Tobacco Township on June 11, 1908, she had lived in Gladwin County all her life. The former Lela Quelet, she was married to George Rau on August 26, 1928, in Beaverton. He is pastor of the Secord Baptist Church. Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Marie Campbell, of Gladwin and Mrs. Gloria DeGuise, of Midland; two sons, Allan, of Gladwin and Frank, of Norfolk, Va.; three sisters, Mrs. Ola Shaw, of Gladwin, Mrs. Fay Brown, of Beaverton and Mrs. John Mishler, of Peru, Ind.; and 13 grandchildren. One son, Leonard, preceded his mother in death on June 7, 1929. Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. from the Mathews Funeral Home. The Rev. Carl Briggs and the Rev. Winston Decker will officiate and burial will be in the Dale Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Gideons. Additional Comments: See: Quillet above.
