Nellie G. Rau, 73, former Beaverton resident, died Monday, March 3, in the 
Gladwin Nursing Home. Born in Defiance County, Ohio, on October 18, 1906, she 
came to Gladwin County with her parents as a child. She grew up in the Dale 
community and taught school there. In 1964 she moved to the Wooden Shoe 
Village and then to Naubinway where she lived from 1974 to 1976. The former 
Nellie Rupp, she was married to Earl Rau on October 11, 1930, in Beaverton. He 
preceded her in death on December 12, 1972.
   Surviving are one son, Jerry of Naubinway; one sister, Mrs. Mildred Pettit 
of Rhodes; and 3 grandchildren. A son, James, died on September 8, 1969.
   Services were held today, Wednesday, at 1:30 p.m. from the Mathews Funeral 
Home the Rev. Henry List officiated and burial was in the Dale Cemetery.
