Dora Edith Ray, 92, of Midland, died Monday, April 12, 1993, in the Mid 
Michigan Regional Medical Center, Midland. She was born in Elkhart County, 
Ind., March 28, 1901, and moved to Beaverton with her parents at age 13. She 
was an active member of the Church of the Brethren in Midland where she taught 
Sunday School classes and worked in the ladies aid. She also served as 
deaconess for many years. The former Dora Tschupp, she was married to Harry 
Ray on July 17, 1917, in Gladwin. He preceded her in death in 1974.
   Surviving are, 3 sons, Wilbur of Midland, Roland of Denver, Colo. and the 
Rev. Everett of Hastings; 24 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren and 6 great 
great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 3 sons, Virgil, Russell and 
Willis and by a grandson, Warren, in 1992.
   Rites were held Thursday at 11 a.m. from the Midland Church of the 
Brethren. Pastor Rich Sivo officiated and burial was in the Dale Cemetery, 
Beaverton. Memorials may be made to the church.
