Mrs. Clara Raymond, 96, of Beaverton, died Friday, July 16, at the Towne & 
Country Nursing Home, Midland, where she had been a patient for the past 2 1/2 
years. Mrs. Raymond was born October 17, 1872, in Fehr, Germany, and came to 
the United States and Gladwin County in 1890. She lived on a farm in Tobacco 
Township, nearly all her life. She and Albert A. Raymond were married in 
Gladwin September 6, 1896, and he died many years ago. A daughter, Mrs. Hazel 
Rackel preceded her in death July 22, 1969, as did two son, Wesley in 1957, 
and Walter.
   Only survivors are two grandchildren, Mrs. Donald (Dorothy) Hetherington of 
Santa Susana, Calif., and Harland Raymond of Lennon; five great grandchildren 
and one great great grandson. Services were held at the Mathews Chapel Monday 
at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Roger Browne officiating. Burial was in Dale 
Cemetery.
