Thomas J. Richards, 69, of Gladwin passed away May 10, 2002 at his home 
following a short illness. Born Dec. 15, 1932 to Joseph and Edith (Field) 
Richards in Saginaw, Thomas was mill-wright welder at the General Motors 
Powertrain Division Malleable Iron Plant in Saginaw. A member of the U.A.W. 
Local 455 in Saginaw, he retired in 1994 after 27 and a half years of service. 
He was also the owner and operator of Richards Welding and Wilsons Rubbish 
Company, both in Saginaw.
     Thomas moved to Gladwin in 1992, after having previously resided in 
Bridgeport and Saginaw. Thomas married the former Rosalyn McKimmy on April 10, 
1981 in Saginaw. Besides his wife, Rosalyn Richards of Gladwin, he is survived 
by one daughter, Pamela (Ted) Darling of Fenton; a son Thomas (Marti) Richards 
of East Alton, IL; step-children, Joy (Randy) Brown of Gillette, WY and Steve 
(Cheree) Coats of Harrison; grandson, Thomas J. Richards of East Alton, IL; 14 
step-grandchildren; sister Betty Bonaminio of Toledo, OH; several nieces and 
nephews; and many friends and relatives that were close to his heart.
     He was predeceased by his parent and two brothers. Funeral services were 
held May 14 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Gladwin with Pastor Joseph Dorais 
officiating. Burial took place at the Tobacco Township (Dale) Cemetery. 
Arrangements were handled by Hall Funeral Home in Gladwin. Memorials 
contributions can be made to Mid Michigan Hospice or Emmanuel Baptist Church.
