FORMER RESIDENT DIES IN DETROIT

   Funeral services for Harold Rise, 55, of Detroit were held Sunday at the 
Hall Funeral Home in Gladwin with the Rev. Arthur Whisler officiating. 
Interment was made in the Dale cemetery. Mr. Rise died in Receiving Hospital 
in Detroit June 27, following an illness of one week. The son of the late Mr. 
and Mrs. Charley Rise of Tobacco township, he was born January 1, 1902 at 
Lima, Ohio. After leaving the Knoxville community he has spent most of his 
life in Detroit where he was a tool and die maker at the Ford Motor Company.
   Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. P. G. Crockett and Mrs. Lewis McMahon 
of Beaverton; and two brothers, Fred Rise of West Branch and Ralph Rise of 
Gladwin. Pallbearers were Loren McKimmy, Homer Crockett, Alvin Rise, Jacob 
Crockett, Albert Crockett and Donald Rise.
