Roper, 33, of Bentley Township, was found dead at the wheel of his car Monday morning, according to Gladwin Sheriff's deputies. Roper is believed to have pulled off Wisner Rd. to sleep and preliminary findings of a post mortem Monday indicate his death was accidental caused by carbon monoxide inhalation. Deputies were assisted by the Billings Township Rescue Unit. Billings constable and the Gladwin County Ambulance Service. Gladwin County Record dated 05-30/1984 Column - 6 Page - 1 Thomas Roper (Midland Daily News, May 29, 1984) Thomas Roper, 33, of Rhodes, died unexpectedly Monday, May 28, 1984, in Billings Township, Gladwin County. He was born in Michigan Aug. 5, 1950. He leaves his wife, Cheri; daughters, Marie Roper and Christine Roper, both at home; mother, Dorothy Roper of Rhodes; brothers, Jim Roper of Fenton. Al Roper of Linwood, Robert Roper, Oliver Roper and John Roper, all of Rhodes; and sister, Sharon Christie of Minnesota. Services will be at 10 am. Thursday in Hope Lutheran Church in Rhodes with the Rev. Alan Druckenmiller officiating. Burial will be in Billings Township Cemetery. Friends may call at Lee’s Funeral Home after 7p.m. today, any time Wednesday, and at the church from 9 a.m. until time of service Thursday.
